Let's Go!
The Social Events Committee was developed as a means to foster camaraderie and fellowship among our members. There is such a large and vibrant Artistic Community throughout North Carolina that opportunities abound for us to marvel in others work, replenish our own souls and stir up new inspiration in our hearts. Therefore, we decided to organize group outings to attend various art festivals, art exhibits, art walks, artist showings, gallery openings, etc.. What better way to view these beautiful and awe inspiring offerings than with our fellow like-minded artists in the guild. We can discuss and appreciate the eye of the artist, their energy inspiring pallet choices, and the mood a creation invokes. But most importantly we can spend time with each other forming new friendships and possibly even working relationships. The offerings are both amazing and endless in our communities and we are so fortunate to be a part of this artistic community!
New events will be posted on Meetup, on our website, in the newsletter, and throughout our Facebook and Instagram pages so check back often. In order to RSVP to our outings you must use the Meetup app and its very easy so don't worry! We have chosen to use the Meetup app in order to make our events easy to see, easy to RSVP, (or cancel if your plans change,) and easy to communicate with each other minute by minute for the events! It can even give location and maps for you to follow.
It's FREE and easy to do. Just click the links below!

Has the idea or the fun of Plein Air ever fascinated you? Well first off, to explain, Plein air is a French term meaning, “denoting or in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors, or with a strong sense of the open air, that became a central feature of French impressionism.” Some famous Plein air painters were amongst the most impressive painters from history including Monet, Homer and Sargent.
Within the Cabarrus Art Guild, a group of Plein air painters have banded together to enjoy the lovely North Carolina Piedmont and surrounding sites via Plein air. They have named themselves, “Dusty Road Painters” and meet to explore the indoors (inclement weather) and outdoors that offer countless opportunities to express one’s artistic curiosity and passion.
Have questions or interested in joining this free group of adventurous artists? Reach out to Plein Air Chair, O’Lynda Walker at olynda.walker@gmail.com.
We recently had a lovely outing at the Kruskinski Farm in Concord, NC.
