Class Description:
In this class you’ll work with recycled materials to create an art piece. Don’t worry, all materials are cleaned up and ready for class. Everything you need to create this piece is provided. It’s like assembling a glass puzzle, then having it permanently sealed in epoxy. All you need to bring is a snack and your creativity.
You’ll have your choice of frames and the glass you’ll use. You even choose the subject for your art piece. I have a book full of ideas if you need them.
You choose every detail of your piece by selecting from broken glass that is sorted in containers by color and style. I have a great selection of glass at the moment. There’s glass from various items such as plates, platters, bowls, vases, cups, glasses, beer bottles, wine bottles, etc. You’ll create a unique piece of art from this glass.
In class you’ll receive instructions on how to create a good design, how to safely use the glass tools, and how to complete the piece using a two-part epoxy. Most of your time is spent designing your piece, with about 30 minutes for the epoxy pouring time. This piece takes 24 hours to cure and it can be picked up the next day.
Be prepared for a fun day, I love giving classes and my plan is for you to enjoy the process and create a piece you love.
I’ve been creating recycled glass art pieces for about 6 years and offering classes for about three. I especially enjoy working with glass and taking advantage of its properties of sparkling and reflecting light. And there’s always the benefit of saving just a bit of our natural resources by not sending so much stuff to the dump.
