Vibrant Landscapes in Oil and Watermedia
In this hands on workshop, you’ll explore techniques to make your landscape vibrant and full of energy. Whether you’re working in watercolors, acrylics or oils, you’ll learn how to use color to set the mood, capture light and add depth to your work. Lucy will guide you step-by-step, starting with a demonstration that shows you how to create dynamic compositions that stand out.

Class Cost: $75 members, $100 non-members. Note: we are able to offer this class at a reduced rate as
its supported by grants from the North Carolina Arts Council and the Robert and Mariam Hayes
Charitable Trust Grassroots Grant. Future classes are $140 per day.
Materials Cost: Students will supply their own materials.

Join us for a fun and inspiring landscape painting class with artist Lyudmila Tomova Clark. (She goes by Lucy.) Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, this class will help you bring your landscapes to life with bold colors and expressive brushwork. In this hands on workshop, you’ll explore techniques to make your landscape vibrant and full of energy. Whether you’re working in watercolors, acrylics or oils, you’ll learn how to use color to set the mood, capture light and add depth to your work. Lucy will guide you step-by-step, starting with a demonstration that shows you how to create dynamic compositions that stand out.
You’ll have plenty of time to practice, experiment and work on your own projects while receiving one-on-one feedback from Lucy. By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to create colorful, engaging landscapes and have tools to help keep exploring your creativity.
Come ready to have fun, learn new skills and bring your landscapes to life! Lucy will bring a wide variety of photo references to choose from or you can use your own.
Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, Lyudmila’s artistic journey took a transformative turn when she immigrated to the United States in 1990. Since then, she has thrived as a full-time painter, editorial illustrator, and designer, spending two decades in the vibrant artistic scene of New York City before expanding her career across the country.
Lyudmila Tomova Clark is a globally acclaimed, award-winning artist known for her distinctive impressionist style. She specializes in figurative, portraiture, and plein air painting, working primarily in oil and watercolor. Her art seamlessly fuses abstract and realism, capturing mood and movement in a dynamic and expressive way.
