Have you ever been captivated by the lotus flower? A symbol of purity, resilience, and breathtaking beauty, it rises from the mud to bloom flawlessly. In this special watercolor workshop, we won't just paint a flower; we'll explore the story of the lotus and connect it to our own journeys of strength and grace.
Join me, Ida Mae, for an afternoon of creativity and calm. As an artist and veteran, my own work is about finding beauty through exploration and honoring strength in quiet moments. This class is an extension of that mission—a space to slow down, breathe deep, and let the watercolors guide you.
Is This Class for You?
• Absolute beginners are wholeheartedly welcome! If you've never picked up a brush, this is your perfect starting point. More experienced artists will enjoy the meditative process and the chance to explore expressive, loose watercolor techniques.
• Guidance Provided: Instructor will guide you through every step with clear, demos and provide plenty of one-on-one encouragement. This is a judgment-free zone where exploration is celebrated. You will leave not just with a painting, but with the confidence to create more.
What to Bring:
Bring your own Watercolor sketch pad (140 lbs) and watercolor brushes size 4 and 8, but don’t forget to bring an open mind! All other supplies will be provided by Instructor
Instructor will provide each student with : 1 piece of Professional Grade 100% Cotton Watercolor Paper, Professional Watercolor Paint, Paper Towel, Cup for Water
Your Finished Masterpiece:
You will leave class with a beautiful, frame-ready painting on high-quality paper. This isn't just a class project; it's a tangible piece of your personal calm.
Isa’s practice is rooted in a passion for community and the shared journey of learning. Each class she teaches is a collaboration, and every student helps me stay close to the creative energy of being a student herself.
Ida builds depth and narrative through layered watercolor, acrylic, and collage. Her figurative work investigates the interplay between perceived and physical texture, unifying them into a singular, tactile statement. Ida is endlessly curious about how a simple gesture can communicate a deep story, and how color can establish an emotional mood, connecting us to both the natural world and our own inner landscapes.
