Autumn Glow: Capturing Light and Shadows in Acrylic
Designed for beginner to intermediate students, this hands-on acrylic painting class will guide you in creating the glow, depth, and movement of fall foliage. Phil will demonstrate techniques for blending color, building contrast, and using light and shadow to bring your autumn scene to life.

Materials Cost: No additional material cost, and a pre-sketched canvas will be provided. Other materials that students should bring are noted in the description below.

Description
Designed for beginner to intermediate students, this hands-on acrylic painting class will guide you in creating the glow, depth, and movement of fall foliage. Phil will demonstrate techniques for blending color, building contrast, and using light and shadow to bring your autumn scene to life.
Materials
A pre-sketched canvas will be provided by the instructor as the starting point for your painting. Students should bring black, white, dark brown, yellow, orange, and red acrylic paints, along with an assortment of acrylic brushes, a water container, and paper towels. You are welcome to bring an easel if you prefer to use one.
Phil will guide you through each step of the process and offer individual assistance as needed.
Bio
Phil moved to Charlotte from West Virginia about 20 years ago to teach art in the public school system. Since retiring, he has had more time to create his own artwork in both watercolor and acrylic.
Phil believes that creating art is a rewarding outlet for the creative mind. While perfection may never be fully achieved, the process of striving for it can be both fun and deeply satisfying.
