After Dark @ All Saints’ Episcopal Church
January 17 & 18 and 22-25, 2018
6:30 – 8:30PM

For the third year, All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Concord is hosting a community event called After Dark @ All Saints’. AD@AS raises funds for community organizations such as Cooperative Christian Ministry, CVAN, and Community Free Clinic. The event is a collection of fun evening classes for the community.

We are inviting you to participate as a presenter for one evening at the third annual After Dark @ All Saints’. AD@AS offers people a chance to learn something new, brings together folks from the community, raises funds for community organizations, and gives you an opportunity to showcase your
gifts and promote your business.

What Presenters Need to Know

1. We are asking you to volunteer your time, but you will be reimbursed for your material expenses. As you plan your presentation, tell us what your materials will cost so we can include that in the advertising. The participant will pay for the class, plus materials, when they register for your class.

2. You should plan on 60 to 90 minutes for your session. With Q&A and follow up, it could run 2 hours. We will be happy to talk to you about the kinds of activities that are well-received and generate enthusiasm. You will pick the date you wish to present, and we will get you on our schedule.

3. As the planning progresses, we will check with you about your needs (room size, tables or not, projection equipment, etc.)

4. The money that you help to raise will go directly to help people in our community.

Thank you!

October 2017 Featured Artist - Annie Glacken

Picture
Annie has always loved creating some type of art.  As a child she would spend hours and hours lost in the joy of creating and drawing.  When she became a wife and mother, life shifted into high gear and the time available for art diminished.  However, once her children grew older, the desire to create once again bubbled up to the surface.

After painting for a while in oils, Annie chose watercolor as her medium because of its transparency, luminosity, and spontaneous traits.  She loves the adventure of following where the painting leads.  Although watercolors can be quiet and gentle, Annie prefers to create a cheerful mood with vibrant and dramatic colors.  Because watercolor painting is such a joy, she often loses track of time when picking up a brush.

Annie holds active memberships in the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, High Country Watermedia Society, Cabarrus Art Guild, and the Mooresville Art Guild.

Through the years she has had the privilege of studying with Susan Crouch, Sterling Edwards, Leslie Fehling, Jan Groenemann, Joyce Hicks, Joe Miller, A.J. Schexnayder, Brenda Swenson, and Wes Waugh.

For the last six years, her work has been exhibited in many North Carolina juried exhibitions, judged shows and galleries and won numerous awards.

Currently you can find Annie’s art at these North Carolina venues:  The Billy Graham Library, The Billy Graham Training Center, and The Guild Gallery in Concord.

In addition to exhibiting and selling her art, she enjoys teaching workshops in watercolor painting, sketchbook journaling, color mixing, watercolor batik, and book-binding. If you would like to schedule a workshop, please email at:  Glacken@ctc.net.

You may follow Annie’s blog at: www.annieglacken.com,

Annie’s desire is to produce art that would cause the viewer to reflect on the beautiful creation of the Master Artist--The Creator!
