Welcome to the Cabarrus Art Guild

The mission of the Cabarrus Art Guild is to bring together artists and art enthusiasts from Cabarrus and surrounding counties for art education, to share information about art, and exposure to original works of art.  We do this through our various programs, events, talks and classes.  Our various programs are open to all, whether you are an amateur or professional, if you dabble or sell your work.  We welcome you to join the Cabarrus Art Guild and share in our common interests and the wonder of creativity.

Every time I think about the Cabarrus Art Guild, I can’t help but think of its longevity.  52 years!  Imagine the determination of its members, its leadership and willing volunteers who gave their time and creative energy to keep this organization on its feet through thick and thin. I don’t know most of those people, but like many of you, I thank them.

So many social, economic, and technological changes have occurred over the past half century. The CAG has managed to survive and adapt, even flourish. Our county and regions are growing and common sense dictates that there are more artists and art lovers in search of ways to expand their artistic interests. Cabarrus Art Guild was founded on the basis of reaching out to those individuals and to further encourage and enrich their lives and the community in which they live. Growth provides us the opportunity to share in ways we had not yet considered.

In the coming months, the new board of directors will continue to explore how our Guild can provide its members and neighbors with art experiences. Free demonstrations by gifted artists presented to our community will continue to be a mainstay. We are planning on increasing art classes. Focus on increasing our membership will be one of our top priorities. We are exploring different scheduling choices so our events/workshops can be more accessible to those with tougher schedules. The Guild is continually reviewing how we can give more to our members.

Frankly, this is the tip of the iceberg.  The previous board of directors has been working hard and rethinking many ideas. The new board is moving forward with them.

This organization has been at its best when the membership makes a commitment to be actively involved. Share your concerns and positive possible solutions. Join a committee. I usually dislike Zoom, but have been amazed how easy it is to use this technology.  If properly organized, meetings can run about an hour, usually once a month. A lot gets done, in the comfort of your home, and you make a difference. How easy is that?

I am blessed with a dedicated board of directors and so are you. Please give them a high five when you can. It’s going to a great year!
