This tiny little house is a work of art! It’s all about embellishing using vintage and hand dyed fabrics with hand embroidery. Susan will walk you through each step of one of her newest 3-D creations using fun and funky techniques! We will be using several different types of fabrics, such as hand dyed Cheesecloth, Silk/Rayon Velvet, Osnaburg and more! There is nothing more fun than stitching and creating your own little world atop a hill of fabrics and threads! There will be several options of houses, such as a winter house, a Tiki Hut for the beach, one with lots of flowers and more! It’s a tiny piece but so beautiful! This class will also be offered at 2017 Houston Quilt Fest. The pattern and partial kit will be provided by Susan for your convenience with the class fee.
Dates: October 11, December 6
Time: 1:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Cost: $30 for each class
This class is Susan’s newest monthly hand embroidery class. We like to call it the BOM (Block of the Month) class. It’s going to be a fun journey seeing what unique ways we can make hand stitched seeds and pods inspired from nature. These little treasures can be created for a Prayer Flag or Garland, Fabric Book or a Wall Quilt. Learn many different Stumpwork techniques and fun embroidery stitches, some from the 1600 - 1700’s. It’s fun, inspiring and yes you will learn many embellishing techniques. The classes will be a minimum of 6 months, but maybe a couple more depending on how many pods Susan ends up creating.
