GALLERY EXHIBITIONS

ELEMENTary – The Basics: Air – Earth – Fire – Water
June 22 – August 13, 2009

The forces of nature – air, earth, fire, and water are inspiration for most artists. In this show we explore the influence of nature and the artist’s manipulation of natural elements to create compelling works of art.

The group invitational includes: Syed Ahmad (glass), Alice Ballard (clay), Clara Couch (clay), Chery Cratty (painting), Patrick Dougherty (installation photography), Patrick Glover (painting), Andrew Goliszek (photography), Carmella Jarvi (pastels), Paul Keysar (painting), Laird Lanier (mobiles), Gretchen Lothrop (sculpture), Susannah Ravenswing (jewelry), Ken Thomas (forged metal), and Anatoly Tsiris (wooden vessels).

EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES

Cabarrus Art Guild Juried Exhibition (August 28 – October 10): Entry Fees: members, $20 up to three works; non-members, $30 up to three works. Charles L. Mo, Director of Fine Arts – Mint Museum of Art, is juror for the competition. Artwork is to be delivered to the Arts Council Galleries on August 14, August 17, during office hours, 9 am – 4 pm. A detailed prospectus will be emailed as an attachment during the first week of June. You will soon be able to download the prospectus at www.cabarrusartscouncil.org
